Starting This Weekend: Bike Courses!

Starting this weekend, Brampton Parks and Recreation is offering bike courses about proper bike fit, safety equipment, street signs, signaling, stopping and how to ride a bicycle. The Bikeport’s own Kevin Montgomery will be one of the instructors giving lessons this weekend at Chinguacousy Park.

1-on-1, and small group CAN-BIKE training is available through The Bikeport. As Bike Month is fast approaching. Why not take a Commuter Cycling Course and make this the year you start taking your bike to work, or to the train station?

Beginner On A Bike? No Problem.

Even if you’re an absolute beginner, The Bikeport is happy to help you get comfortable on two wheels.

Among many CAN-BIKE offerings, “Level 1: Fundamentals of Cycling“, which is designed for people of all ages who have never ridden a bicycle. It’s a 3-hour course, easily teachable on a weekend!

If you know how to operate a bicycle, but want to know more about using road infrastructure, you can check out our Online Resources at any time, and ask about taking a more advanced CAN-BIKE course.

Required Equipment

Both City of Brampton and Bikeport courses require a bicycle in good working order with a bell, CSA-approved bike helmet, and comfortable clothing including running shoes.
